The TCC Quads were held on Sept. 29th. There were 6 players in all. The winners were: 1st Mike Macgregor, 2nd Eric Holcomb.

The Wash. Sr. Adult Championship was held on Oct. 6-7. There were 9 players in all. The winners were: 1st, Wash. Sr. Adult Champion for 2007 Paul Bartron, $65.00, 1st U2000 Richard Golden $45.00, 1st U 1600 Constantin Etingher $45.00.

The Puget Sound Open was held on Oct. 27-28 at the club. There were 20 players in all. The winners were: 1st -2nd , U2000 Ben Calpo, Allen Smith & Carson Hannibal, They each won $60.00, U1800 David Meliti $50.00, 1st U1600 Catherine Smith $50.00, 1st U1400 Steven Hjerrild $50.00.

The Tacoma Chess Club Championship was just held at the club. There were 18 players in all. The winners were: 1st and Club Champion for 2007 Nhon Do, Plaque, 2nd Allen Smith, $25.00, Class A Drayton Harrison $20.00, Class B Larry Anderson, Trophy, Class D Alex Nikolskyy, Trophy, Class E Gary Dorfner, Trophy, TCC Jr. Champion for 2007 Brandon Morris. There were no Class C players. This was the best club championship in years. There was a fight for the title which went down to the last round between several players.

All of these tournaments were directed by Gary Dorfner.

Former TCC Treasurer, President and Secretary Charles Chamberlain passed away 10/27/2007. Charles joined the club in 1977 and was active in the club until about 1998. He was Pres. in 1978, Sec. in 1980 and Treas. 1981 until 1993.

The TCC Quick Chess Championship (G-15) was held at the club on 11/2. There were 8 players in all. The winners were 1st TCC Quick Chess G/15 champion for 2007 Nhon Do, 2nd Allen Smith. TD Gary Dorfner.

SCHOLASTIC REPORT

Kids Night #13 was held in Sept. There were 6 players in all. The winners were: 1st Leanne Hwa $15.00, 2nd Josiah MacDonald & Robyn Turner $7.50 each. Kids Night #14 was held on 10/24. There were only 4 players. The winners were: 1st Nathaniel Yee $20.00, 2nd Ian McPherson $15.00. TD for both events was Gary Dorfner.
