The Tacoma Chess Club held on January 25, 2014 the Northwest Open under the direction of Gary Dorfner. 10 players took part. Paul Bartron of Tacoma and H. G. Pitre of Seattle tied for 1st place with 3.5-.5 scores. The event was dual rated by the United States Chess Federation.
