On March 22-24, 2013, The Seattle Chess Club held the annual Seattle Spring Open under the direction of Fred Kleist of Seattle. 21 players took part in the Open section. Nathan Lee of Issaquah and Michael Wang of Kirkland tied for first place with 3.5-.5. They drew with each other. 42 players took part in the Reserve Section. Ethan Bashkansky of Bellevue came out on top with a 5-0 score. All the players in the event were from Washington.
