Girls do well at Nationals! A hearty
congratulations to Emma Ge, a 2nd grader at Samantha Smith
Elementary School in Sammamish, who won 3rd Place at the 2025 KCF All-Girls
Nationals Championships in Chicago! Emma earned 3rd Place on tiebreaks in
the Under 8 section with 5 wins and only one loss (to the eventual winner)
out of 6 games. Fellow 2nd grader Elina Khudyev (photo at left), who
attends Epiphany School in Seattle, finished in 9th place on tiebreaks in
the Under 8 section. Congratulations to all 13 WA Girls who competed in
Chicago! This year's All-Girls Nationals, the 20th edition, held in April,
broke an attendance record with 541 participants.
